If you love iced matcha lattes but hate spending $5–$7 at a café or Starbucks, you’re in the right place! In this post, I’ll show you how to make a simple, refreshing iced matcha latte at home with just 3 simple ingredients. It’s fast, delicious, and budget-friendly.
Right now, iced matcha latte is my absolute favorite cold drink. It’s not only refreshing but also healthy—and it tastes amazing! I used to buy them all the time from Starbucks or matcha cafes, but now that I know how easy it is to make them at home, I’m OBSESSED. It’s so simple, even a caveman can do it!
Even my kids and in-laws love it! You can make a batch ahead of time and keep it in the fridge for later. All you need is a blender, and you’ll have your new favorite drink ready in minutes – much faster than driving to a cafe.
Ingredients You’ll Need
All of these ingredients can be easily found at Costco, and they come together to make the perfect iced matcha latte.
1. Sencha Naturals Matcha Powder
I’ve tried several matcha brands, including ceremonial-grade ones, but this is my favorite. It’s labeled as “everyday matcha,” which is a blend of culinary and ceremonial grade. It tastes great in lattes and it’s affordable to buy in bulk from Costco.
2. Soy Milk or Milk
I prefer this drink with Kirkland soy milk, as it works really well in iced matcha latte. Costco offers two types of this soy milk: one in a light blue package and another in a purple package. I prefer the purple one because it has a slightly better taste, but either works.
Note: You can also use any milk or milk substitute you like. Just know that you might have to adjust the amount of honey to your liking.
3. Honey
I use raw honey in the bear container because because it’s easy to pour with its spout, so you don’t have to dig honey out of a jar with a spoon. It’s perfect for adding just the right amount of sweetness to your drink.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Now that you’ve got your ingredients, let’s make the iced matcha latte.
Step 1: Add Your Milk to a Blender
Start by pouring your milk or milk substitute into a blender. I’m using the Magic Bullet, but any blender will do.
Step 2: Sweeten with Honey
Next, add about 3 teaspoons of honey. You can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
Step 3: Add the Matcha Powder
Measure out 2 teaspoons of matcha powder and add it to the blender. For convenience, I keep the teaspoon inside the matcha bag since I use it daily. You don’t need to sift the matcha because blending takes care of any clumps.
Step 4: Blend and Shake
Put the lid on your blender and blend for a few seconds. If the honey sticks to the top, give the blender a shake, then blend again to ensure everything is well mixed.
Step 5: Pour and Enjoy!
Once blended, pour your iced matcha latte into a glass. You’ll notice a lovely foam on top, which makes it feel like a café-quality drink. The foam adds to the overall experience, making it taste like something you’d order at your favorite café.
Why This Iced Matcha Latte is So Good
This iced matcha latte combines the richness and slight bitterness of matcha with the sweetness of honey for a perfectly balanced flavor. Honey is my preferred sweetener because it dissolves easily when blended, unlike sugar, which can be grainy. Plus, it’s a healthier, more natural option that doesn’t give me the negative effects that sugar can.
The result is a refreshing, delicious drink that my whole family loves. In fact, I make this every day—sometimes multiple times a day when it’s hot outside!
Save Money and Enjoy at Home
Now that you know how to make this easy iced matcha latte, there’s no need to spend extra money at cafes. Grab all the ingredients from Costco, and you’ll have everything you need to make this drink whenever you want. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll be making it every day!
