The one story that dominated the news last week was the story of a homeless man with a golden voice.
This inspiring overnight, rags-to-riches story about Ted Williams, former felon now the most sought after voice-over talent, gives us hope that our circumstances can change for the better at any given moment.
He knew what his strength was, his commanding voice, and made it known on a cardboard sign. And someone noticed! He was also very grateful that someone took the time to ask him about his sign and gave him a chance to demonstrate his voice.
Now he has more job offers for voice-over work than he can handle.
What does this mean? Be grateful for what you have, stay positive, and don’t give up on your dreams!
I think another valuable lesson to take away is the fact that not all marketable skills must be purchased through education.
